Museum | The Museum Garden
A stunning landscape
The Hôtel de la Noble Cour stretches from the public area via Cassel’s main square to the more intimate area formed by the garden. The glass doors on either side of the reception hall give an impression of continuity. The garden offers one of the most stunning views over the southern slope of Cassel.
The garden was designed as an extension to a visit to the Museum, and it resonates with the Flemish paintings of the 16th and 17th centuries. The garden displays the same principle of a colour gradient: from green ochre to blue for distance, creating an impression of “atmospheric perspective”.
